Our Evidence-Based Sex Education Programs are designed for young people, ages 10 through 19. The curricula used are:
Be Proud, Be Responsible
Making Proud Choices
These curricula have been named as “Best Evidence-Based Intervention” programs by the Center for Disease Control and the NYS Department of Health. They both align with the New York State Department of Education Health Education Learning Standards. The goal of the curricula is to address the knowledge, motivation and skills necessary to empower youth to change their behavior in ways that will reduce their risk of becoming infected with HIV, other Sexually Transmitted Infections, and the occurrence of unintended pregnancies.
Learning goals include delaying initiation of sex among inexperienced youth, reducing unprotected sex among sexually active youth and helping teens to clarify their own values about sexual decisions and pressures. Module activities, videos, role playing and demonstrations are designed to be informative and interactive to increase participation and enhance learning.
